Hey Honda Tech guys this is my 1st time doing a build thread of my 2000 Integra GSR, heres a little info about me my name is Alfonso but my buddies call me Fonzi, I'm from Denison,Iowa very small town population probably 9,000 last time I remember, but heres the story on this Integra I'm building, my older brother purchased this Integra in Columbus, Nebraska for 3,500, it was a steal because it came with SRD front seats ITR rear seats, Skunk2 suspension, Go AutoWorks turbo kit, built bottom GSR end with stock GSR head, rust free body! but the only thing was that it wasnt running right, he came to me to fix it because I went to college to be a Automotive Technician , I got on it quick and found a few issues, the ram horn had a crack so it wasnt spooling the turbo, and it had Hondata Version one that was about 8 years old and needed updating, later i tracked down the previous owner and he told me that this same car use to be sponsored by Honda Tech

Heres a pic of the car when my brother got it and dropped it off at my house

the kid that own it before tried fixing some piping using PVC piping

Engine bay shot

After getting the Ram Horn welded my brother went ahead and updated from the Version 1 Hondata to the new V3 with buiilt in blue tooth

I put in some good work on the car for my brother I relocated the battery to the trunk, replaced the oil feed line, removed the ugly snail manifold and replace it with a Victor X mani, plus i found a u bended pipe to replace the PVC piping it had

Another engine bay after touching it up a bit

my dd and the teg a day before my brother took the teg to get tuned on E85 at Central Imports

loaded and ready

On the day of the dyno the teg wasnt being so good to us, first our Omni 4 BAR map sensor was giving the tuner wrong readings so it was crap, luckily they had a MAP sesnor but it was a 3 bar and the car was only able to get tune to 11 pounds, my older brother wanted to originally tune it at 16 pounds of boost. After fixing the issue with the MAP sensor the IAT sensor took a crap as well, Sean the owner of Central Imports being a Honda guy had plenty of em so it wasnt a issue to replace, after that more problems came along! The tuner was having issues with the boost solenoid so we ended tuning the car on wastegate pressure which was 7 pounds the car still made 284hp with 190tq at 7 pounds and pulled really good

That seems a bit odd, since we've never really "sponsored" anything.

I was told by the previous owner I got a hold of but since no proof was provided I didn't believe it either

As a site, we've never "sponsored" a car.

After a month and a half the engine gave out, it threw a rod bearing right out the block, it happened on a night that I had the car all to myself, my brother was quite mad, he thought I was out racing or just driving reckless, but I ended buying the car from him really cheap he took a major loss after espcially buying Skunk2 front and rear camber kit, and a few other things but here is how it sits now after pulling the engine out

heres the block you can see the hole on the bottom right side

Lol.
"Blew my brother's car up so I could buy it off him for cheap as hell."
At least he got a STEAL on the car in the first place. After the rest of the money he spent on new mods he probably had a total of about 4750 into it? How much did you end up getting it off of him for? If you don't mind me asking.
What are your plans? Just build a new motor and see what that setup could have potentially made, or going with something completely different? In for some more progress.

From Skunk2 I'll be getting their lower control arms with S2 hardware, S2 cam gears, fuel rail, VTEC solenoid, cam seal, fender hardware, & throttle body

yeah that's close to what he had spent, but he sold me the car the same price that he paid for it 3500, he was nice enough to throw in a USDM ITR block with crank so I can rebuild the engine, but the plans for the car is to go all out from wire tuck, to custom brake tuck, I'm not really a big fan of black so for sure it'll get painted a different color, as for the engine my plan is to build the bottom end, I'm still debating what piston and combo to go with, the head I'm keeping it stock

Hey guys sorry for the late updates but here is what is new, I was able to source a OEM ITR lip for a steal!

A few things also came in the mail as well

I got ahold of some clear EDM corner lights and clear sidemarkers to go with them, I really think the clears look a lot better than the original orange lights
I know the Integra isnt a Type R but i like how the key looks and i just had to get one
