Hi...newbie to the forums so please excuse any non-brilliant statements or actions.

I have a 2008 Accord EX-L with the standard 4 cyl mated to an automatic transmission. Was told there might be a chip I can install to increase gas mileage. So far my search has been unsuccessful.

I appreciate any suggestions you might give me.

 

Hello and welcome to Honda-Tech. There is no such magical chip you can install to increase MPG/HP/any of the above.

Actual tuning could be done via a standalone engine management system with just MPG in mind, but that would be really expensive in the long run and would take years to overcome the costs of the EMS/tuning with your savings at the pump.

Just make sure your engine is in top condition, proper pressure in tires and regular checks and that's about the best you can do for MPG. Weight reduction would also increase your MPG. Just depends how important it is to you.
