Default Newbie with New (old) Accord

Well as the title says I'm a newbie to the site with a new to me Accord. I'm completely new to Honda, been a full-size truck, Cummins diesel guy until I got tired of paying out the nose for fuel. Bought my 95 Accord on the cheap and would like to get it tweaked and fixed up nice.
I'm a good mechanic, will work on anything and am not afraid to tackle anything. Installed lift kits, torn down engines and pretty much done anything to a vehicle that can be done.
So, with all that said, I've got a pick list and could use some ideas on fixes for them. I.E. speedo works but odometer and trip meter don't, cruise doesn't work (switch is either dead or fuse blown) by the way I don't have an owners manual so I don't know where to look for the cruise control fuse. I'd like to make it a little sportier, better handling, so lowering it slightly? better springs/shocks/struts? Can I tweak more MPGs out of it with a better distributor, cap, ignition, intake? Give me some ideas here. Oh and I've got black wheels on both my other trucks so I'm going to keep up the tradition on this one. I think a 16 or 17 will be the largest wheel I want to go with and put some low profile tires on to keep the overall diameter the same or very close, what kind of offset, tire size can I do on this car without having to hack the body up?

Oh and is there a higher output alternator for these cars? The previous owner put HIDs on it and when the cooling fan kicks in, the engine lugs down, indicating the battery is weak or the alternator cannot handle increased load so I need to up the power a little.
