Default hondata cpr issue

i need some help diagnosing a problem with the CPR install in a 91 civic hatch with h2b setup.

i have a obd1 ecu with the q37 resistor already installed and hondata cpr options on the map are checked on.

i recently installed the kit with k20 coils and wired everything up the way it states on the hondata instruction despite there being a discrepancy between the written instructions and the diagram they provided. it states in the instructions

Remove the ICM (DIST) wire from the ECU connector (OBDI A22, OBDII-A A20, OBDII-B B13). Insert the Coil Pack Retrofit ICM wire (orange) into the connector cavity in the same place. however, on the diagram it has it on 21...

either way i have tried switching the pin from 21 to 22 and vise versa and it doesnt make a difference.

i have the power light come on. and the ignition light come on but the sync light does not flash or stay on, the only thing the motor does is crank. i tried to ground one of the spark plugs to the chassis to see if it would throw a spark and it would not.

i know it cant be the distributor since it was working fine before i did this conversion.

can someone please help me with this issue

Either you do not have the ALT output wired right or it is not getting the signal. The ALT is the sync you are missing.

Even though the boxes were checked originally on mine, upon initial test it was not firing. After cranking for quite some time I'd randomly get a spark and it would quickly die. While live I unchecked all the boxes, then re-checked them and it fired right up. Not sure why, that when it was done offline and I uploaded the map it didn't take. That's the only problem I encountered, yours could be similar.

I wired everything using the schematics Katman wrote up years ago. That link is added to the screen on my phone, along with the pictures saved lol.
