Default '99 EK hatch future build

I've got a bone stock '99 EK hatch MT. 96k original miles.

I'd like to keep it stock and find another project (4th gen Lude 4ws). From what I've read, my EK has plenty of potential. This build is for the future so I'm gathering my research.

Projected budget between 3k-4k, maybe more or less depending on the labor.

JDM has a F20B Euro R DOHC vtec with T2T4 5 speed LSD for $1500. I've read some good things about the F20b, bad things regarding the swap into an EK itself.

All opinions and suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

First off I love hatches, good hatches atleast. And my opinion the f series are way to heavy for especially a hatch, if I were you id attempt to sell the f series and get a b series in there atleast thatll run you maybe 2k for a good b series 1.5k for a used but still good b series. try a b16 but that's common the b-20 is what I had I loved it good power and amazing kick until like 70mph.

I love my hatch too, as of now it is an eco-build with my stock d16y7. I'm not too concerned about the added weight from an F or H series. I'm looking for some good torque. F20b has a good r/s ratio too. Not sure how they respond to bolt-ons or turbo build.

H series is about 180 lbs more than a D series. I have heard the f20 is almost identical weight to an H series. H series itself is only 80 more pounds than a B series.

You should be fine weight wise with an F20.

What should I do with this 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback DX for SALE?
'00 Honda Civic Hatchback DX for SALE

Standard Transmission
Manual Windows and Locks
2 Door, seats 5

Work done recently:
New Brakes
Clutch Replaced 1.5 year ago
Winter tires on front, regular tires on back wheels

This car is a rebuild. It was front ended in the original owners possession where the hood was bent up, no other major damage. Was salvaged by the mechanic I bought it off of and fixed up. Since its been in my possession its had the clutch replaced and the head gasket done.

What it needs:
- Shocks are leaking
- A New Engine, its at 258,000 km right now and after having the head gasket replaced in January 2014, water is ending up in the cylinders and oil in the radiator.
- Needs a new radio, cds have never worked in it since I've owned it. Radio works with code.

I am thinking:
- Replacing the motor with another Y7 then turbo
- D16Y8 Then turbo
- or saving for a B series Swap?
