whats up guys. noticed my heater wasn't working the other night so today I decide to climb under the dash and look at the cables/arms that control heater and a/c.. I pull as far forward as possible and got the heater core to engage.. now the problem is it wont go back to the a/c. when I turn to cool and engage ac I can hear the compressor kick on. however, the air is cooler but its for the heater core is still over powering the ac any idea what happened?

 

When you adjust your climate control do all the little levers and moving parts on the Heater/AC unit move around as you choose your settings?

 

The lever on the climate control unit does move back and forth, but it's its warm, or full blast hot now

 

One lever had popped off and I put it back on track. But it's still always on hot. I'm wondering if there is some way to recall rate the cable that moved the switch between hot and cold?

 

When I pulled apart my dash and got into the heater unit tower and blower motor it went from right to left, Blower motor, AC evaporator, heater core, "Tower" when I opened up my AC evaporator casing I found that it was completely clogged like a rat nest paper mache type situation. could be something obstructing the flap keeping both the AC and Heater open if I'm hearing you correctly.

 

It's possible. The evaporator was replaced last summer buy a professional. I've never taken the dash off. But the ac was working until I manually moved the track to engage the heater.

I've also noted that no matter what on the climate control unit I cannot move the slider all the way to hot

 

Go to the firewall and manually close the heater valve.

 

my last coupe had a broken cable bracket in the climate control, even though i could move the lever, the cable just flopped around and did nothing.

i solved this by moving the mixer by hand, just reach under the dash, find the peg, and pull or push.

i did this for 4 years then sold the car and instructed the new owner how to adjust it....he wrecked the car....dont adjust while driving

 

that cable located near the bottom right side of the heater tower needs adjusting then. Now that you mention it won't go all the way over I had that issue also when I reassembled the heater crap.

 

I've tried moving the peg both directions but the heater is still engaged. I found the shut off valve in the engine bay, but the cable isn't acutally moving it anymore. I can manual open and close it though.

 

I been working on my girls car. I replaced the ac compressor, replaced the relays and checked all the fuses. Everything looks fine, so I turn the car on and turn the ac on and the clutch won't engage so u took out the replay and jump it and the compressor turns on I take of the jumper the compressor stops so I put the relay in and the compressor starts, so I turn off the car and let it sit turn it on again and compressor won't start again. Will only start with jumper on. The compressor is new the relays are new it was vacuumed and freon was put in by a shop so idk what it could be, can someone plz help me
