Fixing a 95 accord LX that cranks but doesn't start.
HERE IS THE ALBUM OF ALL THE PHOTOS I TOOK! PLEASE VIEW THEM.
So recently, we bought a 1995 Honda accord LX 2.2 L for 100 dollars from our friend.
He said that his car doesn't start but it cranks. And it all of this happened when he tried cranking up the car on day and it wouldn't start.
So when we recieved it, we checked for everything including if the timing belt works, distributor, fuel pressure ..etc then when we got to the sparkplugs - we took out all 4 sparkplugs and the last sparkplug was damaged. - it looked like it's been smashed by something.
Here is a picture -

More pictures are in the photo album.
Then we opened up the head cover and we noticed that the last that one of the intake valve springs were broken for the last cylinder where we found the broken sparkplug

With that, the two exhaust valve springs were more compressed / in than the other exhaust valves for the other 3 cylinders. (because of the valve rods were bent in
After that, we decided to open take out the cylinder head to see underneath.
We found out that the last piston was slightly cracked.
We took a look under the cylinder head where all the valves were and the last valve is really messed up. The valves rods are bent and everything looks really messed up.
The last piston -

Under the cylinder head (for the last piston) -

Any ideas what we should do now? We want to fix it up with minimal $$ spent.
Every stuff for the cylinders look fine except for the last one.

^ All the pictures that I took.
What I think and sure what happened was that the valve spring broke for the intake valve and the valve with the rod went into the piston chamber and the piston slammed on it and caused this whole mess.
Otherwise this car is really good. Recently replaced timing belt, fully working oil pump, and no other damage to the other parts except for the cylinder head and the one piston.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was all last week. Now i've decided to get a new piston and a new head rather to get a whole new engine itself (ik f22b2 engines are really cheap but I just don't trust the sellers. + plus with a new engine you never know how it ran and if the pumps and timing belt were recently replaced).
So we removed the oil pan from under the engine and we disconnected the piston rod bolts and pushed the last piston from the cylinder wall outside. We noticed that the rings were slightly bent and the top ring was broken. With that, the piston was slightly cracked from the side.

The cylinder wall is fine. I felt everything and there's no scratches that I could feel. Same with the piston. Only a slight scuff on the side.

So what i'm doing is right? Is there any other suggestions on this restoration?

looks like ur recently replaced timing belt was done after the old timing belt broke. piston slammed into a valve and broke a lot of things. most in this situation just replace the engine. F22B2's are available in junkyards everyday u might even want to get a F22B1 for vtec and about 15 extra hp.
p.s. thats the #1 cylinder

It happened because one of the valve springs broke and the rod went in and slammed into the piston. That why if you look closely bottom of the cylinder head picture, you see one specific valve that got cut from it's rod and actually STUCK to the metal of the cylinder head and that was the valve which the spring that is now broken held.
Also if the timing belt broke, wouldn't piston 1 AND 4 be broken also?
-Thanks
personally i try to avoid interference engines
non-interference- timing belt breaks; u are stranded
interference- timing belt breaks; get new engine (some engines cost more than others)
not saying that the issue is a broken belt but most Honda issues have to do with bad solder joints
