Exedy Organic Racing Clutch vs. Exedy OEM Clutch???
Hello guys,
I have a bit of a headache because I'm a tad bit confused about Exedy Organic Racing clutch and the Exedy OEM clutch...
I went through the search and found some disturbing comments by some individuals who claims there are no difference between the Racing and OEM clutches.
Please verify something for me...How am I supposed to tell the difference between the Exedy Organic Racing clutch set and the Exedy OEM clutch set.
-Do they look different as far as the eye can see?
-Are they physically different in size, shape, color, etc..
-Does any one have pics of a Exedy Racing clutch vs. Exedy OEM?
A few days ago I just ordered a set of Exedy Racing Organic clutch...therefore I want to make sure that I'm not recieving a Exedy OEM clutch.
Deciding on what clutch to get was more time consuming and harder than working on removing the tranny!!!
Man, my head hurts!!!

Hhhhhmmmm, I guess nobody knows...
This is for future reference if anyone uses search...
There are two differences that I can see:
1. the box says EXEDY RACING CLUTCH.
2. The diaphram or what I call fingers on the pressure plate is double plated instead of single plated as on the OEM clutches.
There, so now every can tell the difference between the Exedy clutches on Ebay and those sold in performance shops...
Oh by the way Clutch City is an excellent place to order clutches, Charlie was a great help-exellent customer service, patient and answered all my questions!

There is definitely a difference between the 2 clutches performance wise...i have used both of them.
The OEM is just that, an OEM replacement. It will last a good long time with proper use, and I was able to chirp 4th on a032r's in my ED6 (specs in sig)
The pedal feel is lighter than the organic race, and the grip is less but if you are looking for a low cost alternative than its not a bad choice at all.
As far as deciphering the difference physically, you pretty much answered your own ? in that Clutch City is an excellent place to buy clutches from, and they would not dick you. (Plus the boxes are different between the standard and race
)
