Default D15B upgrades?

Hey guys, I currently have a D15B7 and its running like a champ, perfect I would say. My next question is this.

What can I do as far as simple upgrades to improve my power slightly? Even upgraded parts that can make a more reliable/efficient.

I'm not looking to go "fast" or anything, its my DD and i'm looking for little things I can do to make it more reliable have a tad more power and be all around more efficient than it currently is now (bone stock)

The miles on the motor/tranny ect are unknown, the engine/tranny combo was ordered on Osaka and rumors were that the products they sell are 50k miles and under. The body has 253k on it.

Also please no recommendations on other motor swaps B18/B20/B16's ect. This is just a commuter that i'm looking to either get a tad more power and upgrades that will make a difference on power OR reliability.

Car has new distributor/wires/spark plugs/gaskets/clutch/brakes/alternator/clutch slave and master/struts all around 5k miles or less ago which is on a brand new swap which was installed about 10k miles ago. (just in case some suggestions were basic maint.)

Suggestions?

Well the B20 is a great optiion, but people tend to forget it requres alot of parts to make it complete.

you can put your car on a diet and get rid of some weight
Its already reliable from factory.. so IDK what you mean by "more reliable"

Just things in general that are known to need replacing sooner than other things , for example maybe the fuel injectors from factory have X problem with them and Y would be better in terms of efficiency blah blah. Just stuff like that. I'm no expert.

Since you know a bit about B20's ect what motors would you suggest if I do decide to go ***** deep and get a more powerful motor. I always order from this site.

Used JDM Honda Engines

they are the ones I ordered my new D15B from and its top notch flawless, idles very smooth ect. But this swap wasn't technically a "swap" just more so of a replacement. If I were to do a full swap to like a B16A2 B18/B20 ect which would be the easiest to go for?

EDIT: I was thinking more so of a B16A2, just not sure if that's the best choice. (if I go this route eventually)

I would start with a B20 no questions asked. In stock form with a shorter geared tranny they will beat B16's all around. Not to mention they are just better for DD with the added displacement. That added displacement also means more potential for the future. I had a B16 when I was 18...and it was cool. Then I hopped into an LSV and hands down better motor. Now I've moved into a B20 which isn't finished yet, but I already know its going to be the best motor I've built.

generally id suggest based on what the OP has..

but id side on the previous several posts , cuz even if you can pep up a d15b ur gonna have a long **** gearing/transmission to deal with...

so a b20 idea is quite decent.. even a stock b20 non vtec and some small upgrades would be a world of difference to a d15b...

on the bright side if its a true d15B (p08 IM and z6/p08 head) you could sell that to some jdm lovez and get some decent cash out of it to fund ur b20 LOL

I run an non vtec B20 P8R and i love it. I kept it simple and built it with new pistons and cams.

But you will need:
Intake
flywheel
clutch
ECU with B20 map
B16 driver side post

And im sure theres a few i left out. Its early and i just woke up w/o coffee

Are there more easier engines to get going? They have some pretty complete set ups from the site I got mine from.

Here is an example.

JDM Honda Engine: B16A2 Second Generation 1992 - 1995 - $2,200.00 : Osaka JDM Auto, JDM Cars, JDM Motors, JDM Engines & JDM Parts, Imported Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Engines for Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Subaru

That's the one I personally have been eye-balling, not that I know what is good or not, I just know it comes with alot of stuff, seems to be complete and ready to put into a vehicle. Which is the most appealing thing to me. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Also, I may actually be purchasing a CRX Si from my mechanic for a very nice price. Very good condition, not a single dent. Just not sure what motor the CRX Si's came with, ill have to research that now

the crx will prolly have the d15b7 (non vtec) or d16a6 (non vtec)

both which could use the jdm d15b vtec parts u have (mini-me) when you switch over to a B on ur current chassis lol ftw

i think that b16a you are eyeing on is decent, you will still need the rear bracket (the one that looks like a big T) as it is different for sohc motors, the front driver side mount (near the timing belt) will be bolt on if the b16a comes with it

on the b20 its the same except you'd need that front driver side mount
as the b20's mounts there is different ,

to complete the swap, you'd need Bseries axles and a shifter linkage
and then some wiring needed,

thats roughly it, i think LOL (assuming that b16a link comes with a transmission which is good its prolly a 4.4 hydro , being a 2nd gen b16a)
