Default new to honda, need help

I recently purchased a 93 accord LX 2dr from the local charity auction. the car is really clean, and I loved it right up until the cam locked up (my fault, i Knew the oil pressure was low). anyway, I put a junkyard engine in it, it runs better than it did before, the only issues I have are that the speedometer now doesn't work, and the d4 light keeps flashing.

I did not remove the transmission, only the engine, and I know i reconnected all plugs that i pulled loose in the process. My only thought is that I must have pulled a wire loose somewhere inadvertently, since the speedo was working fine before.

can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to look?

I am a seasoned mechanic (i work on boats, jet-ski's, quads, and golf carts for a living) I'm just completely unfamiliar with hondas

Passenger kick panel, look for a two wire blue connector floating in space.
Jumper that connector with a wire, turn the key to II(ON), watch for any blinking CEL or D4 codes.

ok, i'm getting 2 codes, code 17 on the CEL, and code 4 on the D4 light, which from what i have read points to the VSS, but since it was working fine before i swapped the engine, I don't understand why it decides to quit now, unless maybe I inadvertently pulled one of the wires loose form the connector when disconnecting it, which i guess is a possibility. I will take a good look at that connector tomorrow.

sorry for the long delay on the update, the issue is partially resolved now, meaning that the speedo works most of the time.

I pulled the connector, and found that one of the contacts on the female side was fouled with some green corrosion. I cleaned the connector with throttle body cleaner and compressed air, and now the speedometer works most of the time. sometimes when i first get in the car it doesnt work, but will start working after a few miles, but now it also will fluctuate wildly before finally settling down and reading correctly. (I verified the accuracy with a gps app on my phone.) I think i need to take the VSS apart and clean it.
