Honda Civic 1999 DX door actuator fit a CX same year?
I want to install some door actuators into my Honda Civic 1999 CX before getting an alarm installed professionally, because they charge 100 a door (seems pricey) on top of the alarm and alarm labor fees. So I was wondering if the actuators from a DX trim bolt on just fine on a CX or if I need to make modifications/other parts. I looked for some tuts or previous posts but nothing specific for my situation, mostly converting the cx doors into power doors, which is not what I am looking to do.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Define actuator. If you're talking about something that aftermarket hangs off the linkage then go for whatever you like. If you're talking about a power latch mechanism, then yes, it will bolt up to the door shell just fine and you will still need to do a power door conversion even if you dont use the windows or power mirror functionality. If I recall right, there is nothing but possibly a speaker wire in the door panel for a CX so at least 3 or 4 wires will need to be run in any case. I recommend just doing the full power conversion inside the door even if the harness to the cabin doesnt include all the wires at this time in case you want the luxery of power windows and mirrors and all that fancy stuff that came in higher end models.
You have to think about the wiring. If you want one that is oem than you need to get the complete wiring, please search for the how to guide.
