The little sensor by the oil filter...I have no idea how to un clip it, I tired pinching it pulling it and unscrewing it. Would prefer not to clip of as its not on my car, simply I'm helping a buddy swap blocks. It looks like it just slips off but yah not happening so far

Try some needle nose pliers, gently.

 

ended up needing vise grips lol, thanks man same deal pliers were needed.
