Default 2001 Civic Wiring Harness Change

Hey guys, so my buddy's Civic has been having weird electrical problems. The brake lights randomly stopped working as did the blower motor. He blew his engine and got it changed and got the brake light issue fixed. It worked for a couple of months and he called me up saying the brake lights and blower motor are out again. So I check all the fuses and relays and everything looks good until i noticed the wiring harness grommet was out and all the wiring leading back through the firewall into the car was exposed and several of the wires were shredded and chopped up.

How much do you guys think I should pay for the labor of getting this changed because I'm on break and heading back to school in two days and can't do it myself. And where should I get a new harness? Dealer, online or what? Thanks in advance.

I would get a salvage harness (local if I could) and inspect it very carefully before install. Nationwide salvage listing: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

I don't know for sure but, I betting it's 10 flag hours and several hours real time for R&R so, it's probably gonna be expensive like a timing belt.

Be sure to get a new grommet.

*If your near Fort Worth, TX I'll do it for cheap.

I'm actually in MD right outside DC but I appreciate it, one last question I'm looking at the harnesses on car-part and there's an "engine wiring harness" and a "dash wiring harness".

The part that's messed up is right by the passengerside foot area where the harness comes in. Are the two harnesses separate or something?

It's not the engine harness. To make sure, call them and ask if it's the harness that plugs into the ECM/PCM.
