Default OBD1 Custom Wiring harness for Custom car

Engine: B16A
ECU: Hondata OBD1 P28(?)
A/C: No
PS: No
EGR: No
O2: No

So i am trying to create a custom wiring harness and i wanted to eliminate all the extra wiring in the harness that i wont be using. After going through wiring pin out i think i have come up with ones i can eliminate (shown in red) and ones i still have questions on (shown in Yellow). See link (cannot attach a pic for some reason)

The questions i have are:
1) Do ones marked in red sound reasonable to eliminate?
2) What are the yellow ones and can they be eliminated?

Thanks

You'll probably get some answers if you post this question in the appearance section specifically the tucked bays thread:

The two in yellow are needed.

You can delete all the ones in red. You will need to disable some of them in hondata.

What do the two yellow ones do? Are they just basic grounds through the ecu???

There sensor grounds. D21 is for tps, ect, iat. D22 is for map sensor. What is this harness for/going in?

Any one know if i need to wire in a PGM-FI or is there a way around it?

Also does anyone know what is up with honda tech? every time i try to attach pic or post something it keeps asking me to log in over and over. I pretty much cannot post pics so i have been doing links.

Man that thing is sweet. What's your location?

You can get rid of the stock pgm-fi relay but you will need to use relays for starter, fuel pump, fan ignition.

A few questions...

1) Does the computer tell the radiator to turn on via A12?
2) What is the starter signal switch for (B9)? Where does it come from or go to?
3) Does the computer tell the fuel pump (A7) to come on or just use the signal as an in out?

The computer does not turn the radiator fan on. The fan switch turns on the fan. A12 is so the ecu knows the fan is on and can adjust things.

You don't need the starter signal switch b9.

The computer triggers the main relay to turn the fuel pump on. In your case an after market relay will need to be used and wired a special way.

Finally started tearing though the wiring harness yesterday and notice on the tower pin out that there are two B13 inputs, each on a different plug. I assume one is for the computer and the other is for the tach?

What are the consequences for not running an O2? Will the S300 be able to be set up properly?

my rywire harness doesn't use the pgmfi relay

if you don't use a 02 sensor, you will need to run the car in open loop all the time

Interesting that they use larger wire for some spots on the Relay for the Fan, Fuel, Coil and Start (which i assume is ignition)..

Thanks for the hondata link. I will need to look into the benefits of running both ways. Looks like initially that using the O2 is the better option.

Smaller wires are used to trigger the relay, larger wires are used to carry power to the component (fan, coil, fuel pump, etc) since those are high amperage items. You wouldnt want to use small wires to carry power to high draw items. Youd burn up the wires. Since it doesnt take many amps to trigger the relay they can use thin wires to trigger them.
Thats kind of the whole point of relays

Correct I just didn't realize how many relay positions needed larger wire.

Ok so i have a hand full of questions
1) where does the attached wire from the jumper (yel/blk) go too?
2) where does the attached wire from the dist plug go to?
3) do a21and a22 come from the rpm/tach wire from the distributer plug? (Blue wire i think)
4) can a23 and a24 be jumpered once coming from the sensors and ground?

The hard part is i didnt know the harness had already been hacked once before ; (

The easiest thing to do in these situations is to start with a '96 - '98 Civic harness since it's already one piece and runs directly to the ECU. Then just swap connectors and use a conversion harness for the ECU. I think you can also use a '97 only CR-V harness as well. '99 - '00 Civic and '98 - '01 CR-V wont work as the "A" plug for the ECU will be missing since it's part of the cabin harness on those models.

where did you find the multi relay socket? the wiring I'm doing right now would make most peoples heads spin, but I have not been able to find a relay socket like that

Yeah but i have already started. Now i plan to cut the sensor plugs off anf run them to my own connectors
