1999 DX economy build
Hey all, I have a '99 DX hatchback that has been my daily for almost a year now. I average about 45 mpg (90% Highway) with some minor mods; HX alloy's, rear seat deletion, '97 Del Sol front seats, over-inflated tires...
I am about to pick up a VX transmission this weekend which I expect to help my FE the most.
My d16y7 has only 96k, so a complete swap isn't necessary for the foreseeable future. However, I do have a 500 mile/weekly commute so a 1-2 mpg increase makes a significant difference.
Will a y5 head swap, vtec wiring, hx ecu allow me to achieve the lean burn, or will I have to make a complete HX engine swap?
thanks!

You'll need the intake manifold for the egr, you'll need the proper catalyctic converter, you'll also need the wideband o2 and secondary o2 for the hx.
