Default STILL have ?'s regarding balance shaft removal!

From all the posts and pics I've browsed, I'm still getting a little conflicting information it seems. Removing balance shafts on an H23A with the KS BS delete kit....do I NEED to rotate the balance shaft bearings in order to prevent the oil holes from lining up? Also, do I NEED to buy new main cap bolts while everything is apart? Feedback is appreciated!

No. Keep and use the same main caps that came with your block.

I used these to remove mine:

Dremel Flex-Shaft Attachment-225-01 at The Home Depot

Dremel 200 Series 2-Speed Rotary Tool with 15 Assorted Accessories-200-1/15 at The Home Depot

Also this:

If you're not confident to do the the tapping, have the machine shop do the tapping.

***Don't forget to have your engine hot tanked after the tap and removal to remove any metal shavings hiding in the passageways and crevices***

I'm unclear on your reply kingofbattle. I've seen the video, but I have also read some of Reid's (from Kaizenspeed) old posts where he mentioned turning the balance shaft bearings in order to block the passages. However, in the video, they make no mention of it at all, and they're pretty clear that what's in the video is ALL you have to do. If there were any more passages to block, you would think they would of mentioned it.

And I meant main cap/girdle bolts. I'm aware I'm keeping all the main caps (duh!). The bolts are all in place on the girdle, ready to torque, just wanted to be sure before I got ahead of myself. So, replace those or no?

I tapped the hole with the provided tools in the kit. Super easy for a first time. Not gonna lie, my heart was racing when I did it lol. Instead of a machine shop to clean the block, i just taped a straw to a vacuum. Worked great.
