Ok, first my hatch doesn't not stay up anymore-- maybe the hyrdo. fluid is bad or there is a leak?? Any my antenna does not come up anymore.... my cat heat shield rattles almost through the entire rev range.... and my mph needle fell off a while back-- so it needs recalibrated because the mph is off... so all in all i love my baby!!! Anyone have any remedy's to these problems?

i've heard removing the cat shield (since its iron?) will melt somethings

 

my heat shield is rattling, too - it's annoying as hell. does anyone know how to fix this without actually removing it (i'm too much of a ***** to risk melting anything). i haven't been under the car yet though so maybe i could just figure somethin out when i look.

 

i've got a whole bunch of easy fixes for you.
1. my cat heat shield rattled too, so i tried to use some JB Weld on it...which broke after a day in a half. so i tore the heat shield off and now it's great. and NO my floorboard doesn't even heat up, no side effects.
2. you can fix the hatch by going to the dealer or autozone and buying replacement hydros and installing them...$10 tops.
3. screw the antenna motor, disconnect the wires going to it and just leave the antenna up (or make a short *** S2000 antenna look-alike if you want) and your reception will be cake.
...can't help you with the speedo...but hope the other stuff helped.

 

also-- my parking break light is always on...anyone have any suggestions?

 

the obvious answer is to check your brake fluid.. but if the fluid is full, then try removing your neuspeed strut bar if you have one..

 

I also removed my cat heat shield after it rattling for months on end, and haven't had any problems yet (its been about 3 months). As far as the antenna goes, I'd either put in a switch (assuming that the motor isn't dead) to control it manually, or just leave it down (I get perfect reception with the antenna down - go figure). For the parking brake light, you could just disconnect the sensor...

 

shave the antenna,put a antenna in your dash(cost $50 to shave/primer antenna) take heat sheild off, dont be a ***** it wont heat up that much if at all, i did it on my ls and had it like that for a long time, like a year, never notice anything at all ,even on long trips nothin, so just get rid of it

 

OH NO, you got a lemon. J/K, these are problems that plague everyday h-tech personel. You must deal with them or pay stiff penaltys

Im gonna take my heatshield off ... but as an alternative suggestion ... is to spot weld it on all the flex points .... and of course make sure its not bent and rubbing on the pipe or cat ...
