Starting Problem
I've had an off and on starting problem for over a year now. It's a single loud "clunk", which I've always thought to be a solenoid issue. No matter what though, I can always bump start it with a screwdriver. Here's the repairs I've made, each one worked completely for weeks or months, only to have the issue slowly return.
1) Denso solenoid repair kit with new contacts and plunger.
2) Made new ground wires for engine and tranny.
3) Replaced battery negative/ground wire.
4) Replaced battery positive wire.
I've been reluctant to go get a junky autozone rebuilt unit for obvious reasons. Any ideas on what else could be at fault? I should probably run another voltage drop test.
