Default 1988 ED sedan restomod build

This story starts on 3/25/2011 with my buddy Kyle finding this gem on Craigslist. When we moved from Cali to Houston, I put the word out that I wanted an 88 almond cream sedan, 5 speed and was willing to travel 12 hours one way if it was worth it. Many sedan brothers kept their eyes peeled as did I. It took over a year of hunting until this one hit the market for $1000 just outside of Austin. Kyle hit me up after work on a Friday and said, this is the one. He went above and beyond to secure this for me! It needed some TLC but was mechanically sound with only 114,xxx miles. This is my fourth sedan since getting into the game ten years ago. The goal with this build is to keep it clean and period correct. Thanks for viewing

How it all started:

Shortly after buying it, there was an EF meet locally. Swapped the steering wheel for a Momo Honda Access that I'd had for a while. Also swapped the head unit for something newer and nicer. Sourced some JDM tail lights, amber corner lenses, arm rest, glove box, clock and passenger air vent. Removed the tint and gave it a much needed bath.

Replaced the front bumper with one that wasn't damaged and painted all of the trim black. Sourced rear seat belts, lower audio console, Gathers 6.5" 2way speakers, Honda cassette deck and single din CD Player. Also bought a Blox shift **** and a Megan short throw.

Once we moved into a townhouse with a garage, the real fun began. Only so much I could do and get away with at the apartment complex.

Sourced some EDM single globe glass headlights, side skirts from a wago, front lip from a VW and some BNIB floor mats. Lowered it on some eBay coils.

Sourced a set of 15" Mugen CF48's, rear fogs, clear EDM corners, clear bumper lights from a wago and a front lip from an 89 Si hatch. Swapped out the eBay coils for some Function From type 1 coilovers and finally got around to installing the F7 rear LCA's that had been in storage since Cali.

Came across a set of mint 15" Mugen MR5's with tires. Also sourced some BNIB rear mud flaps, JDM gauge cluster, power folding mirrors, CIVIC front plate, another set of BNIB floor mats, under seat tray and JAF badge.

Paint & bodywork time! Garage Built Customs worked their magic.

While it was at the shop I sourced an Alpine cassette deck made for Honda, an EQ, Honda of America shift **** and key, road flare, side markers, BNIB bumper lenses, window visors and a muffler from an EX. Since the CF48's weren't ready yet, I put the MR5's back on and took it to it's first show since the resto.

Once I finished sourcing the center caps, badges and some much better looking valve stem caps (not correct for the wheels but, too good not to use) for the 48's, I bought some Yokohama S Drives and had the wheels restored by the same shop that did the car. They also did the Rover valve cover, carb cover, exhaust manifold and battery tie down. Also sourced some bronze glass, the 6 side pieces. Also bought a Spoon rad cap.

Recently moved to NC & found out that Tuner Evolution is coming to town. Registration was closed but, they accepted me to show anyway!

Here are a few shots from Sunday, chilling with some fellow EF heads at a local meet.

A little over 3 years and you can get a blue antique plate for this. I do like the look even though I've never been a fan of the cream color.

Gonna chime in again. I think the painted bumpers look so much better in general. The exception, cream.
