92 hatch d15z1 - idles oddly and won't respond to accelerator
So I just got this 92 civic hatch from the impound auction and have been trying to get it running. I have gotten it to start up but it idles very oddly and won't respond to the accelerator. So I was wondering if this is due to a couple different issues or just due to the timing being off. It has d15z1 in it and I feel like it might have the wrong distributer on it, trying to figure that out now.
The green arrow is only on the 1992 VX and 93-95 49 State/Federal versions. The 93-95 California versions are not equipped with lean burn mode and do not have the green arrow.
eH.
Haven't had a chance to work on it but there is a check engine light and I'm going to pull the code later this weekend. Also the timing appears to be off but I am not going to try and time it until I figure out if I have the right distributer on it. What distributer is it supposed to have and how do I check which distributer it is.
Thanks

And if the timing belt is off, it has to be fixed regardless of a distributor issue. They're separate animals.
There should be a code on the distributor right against where it mounts. Compare that to whats supposed to be in it VIA online reference.
Secondly i would clean out the IACV and FITV then adjust idle accordingly (both at the FITV and Idle Screw). It may not be the problem but its free (Minus the cost of gaskets) and it cant hurt your idle problem. While your in there make sure your throttle body is nice and clean and not sticky. If you were doing a tune up this would be a good idea anyhow.
Lastly is your timing belt off the car? Off by a few teeth? Or are you referring to valve timing?

So the problem was the distributer. Put a td42u distributer on it and now it starts up and can actually be driven. Now I just need to fix the check engine light, its code 14. I think this might be due to it missing a piece on the intake manifold.
