Just wondering what are the best high compression pistons for a d series motor can some one help out

 

why?

you should check out single cam all motor 1/4 mile times compared to the rest before building one they are not very impressive( sorry single cam all motor fans)



but to stay on topic. rs-machines makes good pistons Nippon racing makes good pistons

what compression are you looking for?
are you asking about brands or types of pistons or what?

i use custom JE pistons with comp ratio 13.5:1 and no problem

 

I notice that too many people focus on pistons and rods when doing NA builds. The area that should get the most attention is the cylinder head and parts that attach to it. If you want to make power there is not much to be found in the block. Even oem or mild compression can go a long way in supporting good power production.

 

NPR P29's are the best cost effective piston. Use stock rods with ARP bolts, or machine LS rods down and add the bolts too.

There are several folks at d-series.org who've done this and make good power and run good 1/4 times.

 

can you specify what is good times and good power?

so far ive seen d series owners crying everywhere because they cant break 14s after spending 1000s of dollars on the motors

 

i also want to build again my D series,with bigger bore piston,here in my country,the fastest D engine n/a reach time 12.9s for 1/4miles,but i don't know his detail specs
