where did you buy the alternator and who tested it? a lot of "new" alternators from the box stores are garbage out of the box. I'm assuming you mean by new ,rebuilt?
^ i bought alternator from autozone and tested over at autozone too. yeah sorry its a remanu...i told them what happen and they replaced it for me again.r....so i dont see why 2 alternator should fail?

their test will always show it's good, but if you get it tested other places, it will show bad, an unloaded alternator test proves nothing. The **** rebuilders they use will reuse parts such as brushes etc, as long as they meet the minimum spec, it doesn't matter if it lasts a week, they put it on the shelf. If you want a good alternator, try to find a reputable electrical service place, see if they will rebuild one or what brand they use, since they would have to warranty the installation on anything they put in, they aren't going to use garbage, I went through this with the starter on the Lincoln, regular Ford starter, but every single one I got would have the contacts in the solenoid fail in a short time, I finally got one from the local electrical service shop, and it's been fine since

your alternator brushes are probably no good, a test with no load on the alternator will show it's good, as it's not having to produce any current, (autozone with argue this lol) once you load the alternator down with a load then it will show failure, but they dont do this, their tests are a joke, I've taken alternators that I've rebuilt and I KNOW were good, I test everything from the regulator to the diodes, check brushes, check commutator windings, field windings etc, and it still showed failure on their machine, yet several years later it was running fine
