Default Transmission question

Hello, i own a 2011 Honda Civic LX, just got quick question, my transmission fluid smells a little burn but I'm not able to get it changed till next week, i got a trip i need to go to, if i add some transmission fluid for the time being can i buy myself the time till i get it changed?

Can you please attach a :smell: to this post? That way we can all see what you're talking about.

If you haven't invented that technology yet, then you might want to be primitive and go to a technician who can smell/inspect the fluid in person.

I see. Well...by that detailed description, I would definitely recommend a transmission overhaul.

A 2011 with those problems? Take it to the scrap yard. Unless the transmission is smoked I highly doubt it "smells burnt" to the point of a problem. Most people can't tell good transmission fluid from bad trans fluid (this includes people at shops) anyways. When in doubt, change it out.

Just change the tranny fluid before going on your trip.
If you can't make the time to do it then that is a risk you are willing to take!
