OEM rear pads came with weird black gel. What the heck do I use it for?

I just bought OEM rear brake pads for my Integra. Inside the box there was a little packet (slightly larger than a ketchup packet) with a black gel. It says that it might cause eye irritation.
What do I do with it? Put it on the pad surface or something?
Thanks

I've never bought OEM pads...but I'm pretty sure that what you're talking about is grease. It goes on the back of the pad in order to prevent brake squeaking. If it is grease...DO NOT put it on the pad surface or you'll ruin the pad!
The grease I bought is about the size of a ketchup packet, but I got it at Autozone and its red. What I do is put some on the back and smear it around to get an even coat...then put the pads on. Try really hard not to get it on the surface of the pad though!
Hope this helps

it is called anit chatter greaseput a thin amount on the back of the metal plate that touches the piston side of the brake pad. it should stick rght to it. and then install your pads. remeber the rear pistons actually have to be turned to push them in. and only use a small amount of that grease!!! a little bit goes about 50,000 miles/long way
