I have a 1999 Honda Accord. The brake light indicator came on so I checked the brake lights. All were out except the far right brake light. I changed all of the light bulbs and the indicator light is still on and only the far right brake light is working. Can someone please suggest what to do next? Thank you!

 

To verify, you replaced them (taillights)l with dual-filament bulbs and the third brakelight with the appropriate bulb?

The tail/brake light (for a '99 Accord Sedan) is a Sylvania 7443 and the center is a 7440.

The brake fluid can also trigger the light to come on as well. Check the level in the master cylinder in the engine bay.

 

Brake fluid is good. One out of 4 brake lights does not work. Changed bulb still
doesn't work & dash indicator is illuminated.

 

Are you getting 12v to the Green wire going to the right/pass side brake light?

 

The bulbs were replaced with identical bulbs that were taken out. The brake fluid is full.

Someone suggested the wiring might be bad but other than talking it to an electrical shop to check, is there another way since all the lights work except the brakes lights (and one still works).

I am perplexed because the turn signals and hazard lights work. The dealership replaced the brakes about 4 months ago.

I am single, unemployed and would like to find an inexpensive way to resolve this issue, if possible.

Which brake light indicator is on? The one that brake or the one which is below the diagram of the car?

Have you checked your park brake? You will need someone to check that you are getting the electricity in the plugs of the actual lights. Any independent mechanic should be able to do it for you. Do not go to the dealership for something like this. The dealership will be too expensive.
