Maybe one day the R badge will return to US shores...even a watered down version is better than nothing. well to me atleast. An NSX-R would be grand.

^^ totally agree, but if gt-r skyline made it to states, I don't see any big issue with ctr IMO.

Anyone know if it will have an old fashioned manual or a dual clutch SMG deal? Haven't found a straight answer to that from what I've read.

The general trend in Japan is get away from traditional manual transmission and lean towards semi-auto dual clutch systems like the GTR or fully automatic transmissions

It will be a normal manual transmission.

Honda is supposedly developing an 8-speed dual-clutch paddle shift transmission that could be mated to the R.

Lame. I like a clutch pedal. Even if it is 0.0003 seconds slower around the Nurburgring

Vid is a cool idea, so 1:25 shows a proper manual, but it sounds like a DSG? Yes I'm quite hung up on the transmission of this thing

Oh really? The average prospective GTR buyer has few qualms about it's price TAG. The average prospective Civic buyer will bitch up a storm at anything over a $25k sticker price. And that is why the CTR will never make to U.S. soil.
