So to recap a little bit we bought a crx from kind of a nutty lady. She had told me that the car had a hotwire attempt done on it. Upon getting the car home i pulled the plastic from around the steering column and had a look around. all of the wiring was fine, in fact, it looked like pristine factory wiring.
We Started by simply seeing what the car would do when we hooked up the battery and turned on the key. Nothing. Except the hazard lights worked. So today we stuck a new battery fuse in (the big 60amp block one) and now we are getting power to most of the accessories and lights. progress is made.
My question now however is about what i am not getting when i turn the key. when i turn the key the battery light comes on. that is it. no oil pressure, check engine or anything else. Obviously it wont crank either. i had a look at all of the grounds i can find and they all seem OK. I suppose that my next step would be pulling the main relay out and testing it.

If anyone has any insight for me regarding what i SHOULD be looking at, that would be fantastic. Recap: power to almost everything, battery light comes on when key is on but nothing else. no clicks from anything. no start obviously.

IF THE LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD ARE DIMMING WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED TO ATTEMPT STARTING I WOULD SUGGEST CLEANING CONNECTORS TO THE STARTER OR HAVING THE STARTER ITSELF CHECKED

 

Bad ecu? Bad relay? Check the dash bulbs, maybe burnt out. Fuel/main relay

Long story short, seems electrical to me.
