Ok so i bout a 93 civic ex 5spd that was pretty much stock. It had been swapped from a Z6 to a D16a motor. Now i looked up the d16a motor an people say they're pretty much the same engine but the swap is not the problem.

Ok so if i was to put it in first an get moving lets say crusing along at 3mph, if i just stomp it, that "Haul *** mode" that goes along with punchn the throttle to the floor doesnt happen with my car. Its like it hesitates an slowly builds up as it moves along. There is no sputtering going on in this wide open throttle process, it jus acts like it has no where to go. I really want to know what the hell the problem because its bugging the **** outta me.

 

First off, it's a single cam, 1.6L engine. It doesn't have a "haul ***" mode. Second off, check your mechanical and ignition timing.

 

Lol thats true. But my dad thought it could be timing too & buy mechanical what do u mean?

 

Mechanical timing - Making sure the crank pulley and camshaft are both lining up correctly. Ignition timing - making sure, with a timing light, that your timing events are happening at the correct time.

 

Jus bout a timing light today so gonna see whats going on soon
