Default H2B Reverse head CRX

Hey everyone its been years since I have posted anything here on the forums but figured I would post up my most current project.
I haven't had my own race car for over 10 years and finally decided to get back in the game.
Build is as follows

F23 Block with H22 type S pistons
Non ported H22 Head with super tech springs and retainers
DD tech single lobe Reapers
OBX ITBs
YS1 tranny
Super single Competition clutch
QSD adapter plate

Iam about half way through building the header and will be working on the rear end of the car this weekend. Getting rid of the factory suspension and making a solid rear end with extended wheel base ala Kaisenspeed. Hope you like it !

Reversing the head will make no extra power but I do think it will make some gains when going 120+ MPH. I just decided to try it to take on a challenge. If the car is not making the power I want then I will probably switch it back to a conventional set up. We will see !

Alot of homemade engineering going on. I like it! I hope that front cross-member and cable trans are for test fitting.

What are your goals with this build?

I will be making a front cross member and I will be using a cable trans but not the one in the picture. Trans will be a YS1 big spline.
This is a race only car so iam expecting to run high to mid tens.

Modification to both the head and block were needed. Some oil drains needed to be blocked off and a few custom pieces I had to make on my mill. I will be doing away with the distributor which greatly simplified putting the head on this way. Also running the single lobe cams means I could do away with the vtec solenoid.
If everything works out good I may start a thread on the exact mods that need to be made.

Was able to get on the mill and program my valve cover insert today. Looks pretty sweet if you ask me!

How do you deal with the valves being in the opposite places? I'm curious at how the intake cam will still be open at the right time? Is it as simple as changing the firing order in the ecu? or is it or am I thinking too hard? Is the firing order still the same? just the intake cam on the exhaust side and the exhaust side on the intake side?

I R CONFUSED.

Yes you are over complicating it . The pistons are turned around so the valve reliefs match the flipped head . The intake cam stays on the intake side and the same with the exhaust. The firing order is still the same too.

Got the rear end mostly done today with some help from a few buddy's.
We narrowed it and stretched the wheel base too.

I love it, fast eddys racings van is the only reverse setup that I know of stateside.

Mad props. No people it doesn't make "more" power per say. But it does have perks, its a more efficient setup.

Leaves a lot of potential for the future.

this is something very interesting to see how it would work especially on a well built H. Besides some of the technology the k possess this is probably one of the best attributes when it comes to running them.

I watched all the videos that they put up about the odyssey and can tell you that the method in which I did the swap is much different . The way I did it allows the cam shafts to be used with no modifications what so ever. Additionally no welding was needed to the block or cylinder head. It just took a little ingenuity.

Nice work!!

The reverse head reminds me of the 90's BTCC accords.

wow. So much creativity, work, effort, and a pretty unique set-up. I know there are other reverse-head H22s, but I am really liking what you have done here for sure. This is really great stuff!
