fuse 15 popping and cel
So I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now. I've replaced the alternator the whole fuse panel under the hook. I looked at the wiring harness behind the intake manifold and found one bare wire. Fixed that. Found a bare wire on downstream 02 sensor fixed that. But I'm still blowing fuse number 15 and everything. I'm lost here. Seems like it's one thing after another. I also have a problem with the car starting after its warmed up. Could that also be from this? I need help here guys. Thank you soo much. P.s. it's a 96 ex coupe
The car not wanting to start after warming up is generally a sign of a failing main relay.
The popping fuse probably means you missed a wire. Keep searching.

Ok. So if there is still a frayed wire or something and it's not touching the manifold bracket will it still cause the fuse to blow? And will my alternator still work if the fuse is blown?
Wires can ground on anything metal - it doesn't have to be that specific bracket. Even if there's just trapped moisture that connects the damaged wire to a piece of metal, that can ground it out, too.

I found those two broken wires. Fixed them. And still had the cel and a not working alternator. I tried a bigger fuse and cel went away and starts just fine and all symptoms went away. Weird right? Could this cause any other problems? ?
Other than frying the wiring and catching your car on fire, no, it wouldn't cause any other problems...
See what I'm getting at? What size fuse did you install?

REMOVE THE FUSE NOW AND FIX YOUR ISSUE. Sorry but that's the most dangerous thing you could do. Like NAR said above it could fry your harness and potentially burn your car to the ground.
