Alright so I have an 89 crx si with an lsv. It's all stock besides bolts on. I'm to the point where I'm trying to get it started. It's getting fuel. I replaced the main relay. The fuel pump is priming. New battery. Good cables. My grounds have been checked and are goood. It has about 12.3 volts getting to the starter. All fuses are good. I've tried 2 different starters. Nothing works. Basically after I turn the key 2 clicks go prime the fuel pump, I go to turn it and try to crank the engine, it does nothing. It doesn't click or anything, it just stays silent and that's it. Idk what else to try. Someone please help

 

Sounds like it as short or electrical issue. U getting any codes and what ecu and wiring u running

 

Have you manually put signal to the starter? Sounds like that would be easiest.... then trace the fault on the OEM starter circuit.

 

Agreed. Bench test the starter. Just supply it with power and it should wiz to life. If it doesn't, you just have a couple bad starters.

 

I tried putting power straight to the starter from my civic. Could it be the neutral safety switch? Or the starter relay?

 

If you supply power DIRECTLY to the starter itself, not on a wire anywhere else but straight power to the starter terminal, it will bypass any neutral safety switch, relay, etc. As soon as power touches the starter terminal (granted the ground is good) it should spring to life. Check the ground. It should run directly to the negative terminal wire on the battery. then connect a power wire straight from the battery and touch the starter positive terminal.

 

Thanks everyone for the help. I got it to start. It was the clutch pedal switch. I just bypassed it and it fired right up in about 3 cranks.
