I need to replace my b20b in 2000 crv. I am browsing ebay and I see lots of high intake manifold engines for sale, while the low ones are more expensive. Why is that ?

Would the high one fit my CRV ?
Originally I had the low profile mani, but if the difference is minimal I would get the cheaper option.

If they are JDM then some (not all) of the low profile IM versions are the higher compression engines known in the US as a B20Z (JDM are all stamped B20B).
High profile IM are all lower compression

The high comp engines can be identified by a knock sensor

 

To really answer your question yes the tall intake manifold will fit the 1st gen crv's. If you google around you'll find images of crvs having the "giraffe" manifold.
