Hi, I've done some research and I can't find a straight answer anywhere! I just bought a new alloy radiator for my ek4, I was going to get new radiator hoses while I was at it but my b16 is blowing a lot of smoke and has a bit of a knock coming from the bottom end, so I bought a b18c2 bottom end which I'm going to rebuild (I'm sure I'll have more questions on this later!) What I was wondering is, will b16 hoses go onto a b18? I know one hose goes into the head and another goes into the block, is this the same position on both motors? I'm not a complete noob but engine swaps aren't exactly my specialty! Thanks for any help!

 

Wrong. One hose goes to the head and the other hose goes to the thermostat housing. If your car came with a b16 than use a b16.

 

To answer your question..... yes the lower will work and if you are still running the b16 head the upper should as well but if you are running the gsr head then that hose is a little different

 

Yes the thermostat housing, on the block, thanks, I will be using the b16 head, cheers! Are the b16 and 18 thermostat housing the same?
