99 accord, runs good except I am not convinced I have to cleand the egr passages.

BUT I have yet to see the fans kick on...... the temp guage is up a 1/3 of the way, so it does not say its hot, but after you drive it and get out it feels hotter than it should.....

Am I looking for trouble ?

 

heat plume occurs with any engine after being stopped. Some manufacturers cycle the fan during engine halt to remove "excessive heat" to prevent a heat soak condition. While Honda's can cycle the fans due to over-temperature, they do not do this normally. If you smell something that should be investigated.
