Default the two fans on the radiator

I noticed on the 1999 accord I just bought that these fans never seem to kick on. The car is not over heating, the temp gauge needle is at about a third from the bottom.....

just wondering.

Why do these cars seem to last so long

because they are built using quality parts. just tossed my 20 year old radiator which was missing quite a few sections. looked like a penny toward the bottom (green) and was still working keeping the engine temp stable. new one should last 30 years LOL

I just bought a 2002 Honda Accord VTEC 2.0 and my fan comes on as soon as I switch the engine on and then keeps cutting in and out, engine temp never gets up more than about 3rd of the way up the gauge, is this normal for a Honda, I have had a Ford Focus for the last 8 years and only ever heard the radiator fan about twice in that time

You should start a separate thread as it's not entirely related to this one and this isn't an issue/fix thread.

The behavior you've described isn't what I'd consider normal.
