Default Changing vtec

Question, is the vtec solenoid pulse width modulated or power and ground? Trying to change the point of vtec on my 09 K24z3 and if it's power and ground I could run it off a dial switch to control vtec at any rpm but something is telling me it's pwm. Is it possible to switch out the solenoid off of a k20 vtec onto me k24 and change vtec or will it have to be programmed in the ecu?

VTEC crossover is programmed into the ECU. It grounds the circuit after lots of parameters are met.

Why do you want to do this? You'll need to change fuel curve with the VTEC change. You're not going to gain power by just moving VTEC crossover. It has never worked to make power ever since VTEC was invented. It's not going to work for you either.

K series engines also have a cam angle change (VTC). How do you plan on addrrssijg that?

You can try and see if Hondata makes a tuner or a flashed ECU for your year of TSX.

FWIW, K20/24's both operate VTEC at ~6k RPM from the factory.
