Default 93 Civic - Lights on!

Greetings,
The 93 Civic we have does not notify you if the lights are left on when leaving the vehicle. Does anyone know if there is a buzzer or alarm on a 93 Civic EX that should notify you that the lights are on?

Thanks

most of them have a box that performs a bunch of functions such as seat belt buzzer, lights on warning, bulb check etc, look for a grey or black box under the dash with the connector unplugged, it might have annoyed someone to the point they unplugged it, I think the civics have the same type of setup, I've seen hondas where some idiot cut the wires vs just unplugging it

The 92-95 civic does not have a lights on reminder. There are 2 ways to get this feature. Crappy radio shack buzzer or find diy by deschlong.

There was a really simple write up at Temple of VTEC but I just checked and it's no longer there. I think it even used a chime from an Accord.

Anyways, I yahoo'd for a bit and found this:

I've done both, I had the crappy radio shack buzzer for a while and it got annoying. I recommend finding the DIY by deschlong. It has instructions for using a 94-97 Integra ICU (with a little bit of repinning) or just changing it out for a 96-98 ICU which i believe is just direct plug and play.

On my EGs I cut the seat belt warning chime wire (red/blu I think) on the ICU harness (brown box on back of under dash fuse box), plug an option connector into the parking light output on the front of the fusebox (female quick disconnect will work), and wire them to a SPST auto relay. You need the relay to convert the parking light positive output to negative.

This converts the annoying seatbelt chime to a headlight warning chime that only goes off when you open the door.

86 and 87 to ground
85 to parking light positive option output (2nd from right)
30 to ICU chime wire

Piece of cake and the cleanest solution.
