I have a coolant hose that is currently leaking out of one of its ends. I went to the dealership and they ordered one for me. The thing is, it is on back order and they dont know when they will be able to get one (its been almost a month already). Are the hoses sold at Pepboys/Autozone/Central as good as the OE hoses or should I stick with OEM material? what are the differences? Am I going to be fine as along as I get the correct diameter and length? TIA

 

I couldn't tell you the difference in quality.
But I will tell you that lower radiator hose won't fit as good OEM.

 

Yeah those hoses don't fit too good. But it should hold you over until the OEM one comes in.

 

Its not one of the big radiator hoses.. its #14 down below which is a relatively small hose. I guess I will just buy one until the OEM comes in then...

dude! it's a small-*** freakin hose! it doesn't matter. just get the gerneric crap. and if it starts leaking again THEN get the oem stuff, otherwise, why get the same part twice?

 

DUUUDE did it start leaking where it connect to i what i think is the Vtech oil sensor?? correct me if i am wrong i am just guessing... but mine did the same if its teh same hose....i bought a new one and then taped it up with that edelbrock radiator hose tape so it wouldnt get rubbed by of the sensors right above it..seems to be helping out wear alot better now... but that only helps you if it is the hose i am thinking about

pepboys or any of those stores have it... its like ten bucks.. but it bonds to the hose and bonds to it self after it sets..you gotta put it on there really really tight and sctrech it out alot
