Hi, new member here.

I just purchased a 1998 Civic EX automatic un-moddified. I have a few questions.

1. The transmission has been changed out with a tranny from a 1995 and there is a module that the 95 didn't have I guess, so the gear indicator on the dash continuously flashes in D4. The transmission shifts perfectly tho. Any way to fix this w/o a full trans replacement?

2. 0-60 mph is only 11 seconds under the following conditions: New tires, A/C OFF, (momentary) Power brake take-off, (automatic trans) I think it should be closer to 8 or 9 seconds... what's wrong?

Check Engine light is ON - but other than transmission codes, nothing abnormal.

is there any way to just turn off the lights?

 

11 second 0-60 sounds about right, autos suck.

 

You can reset the CEL but until you fix what's causing it it's just going to come back on.

 

Flashing "D" means something is wrong.. What are the CEL codes you speak of?

 

i cant believe this shifts even somewhat correctly. solenoids, shift points, etc.

 

Its blinking because its asking for the linear solenoid. Thats whats missing from the tranny. OP can you show us what ecu you are using?
