A/C Compressor going bad after 1 year
I have a 2002 CR-V. Last year the air coming out was the ambient temperature so I took it to the shop and they said the compressor needed replacing.
The new compressor never blew as fast or as cold as the original but I assume it was because this one was a generic model (not sure if it is or not). I live in Florida and it would take at least 20 minutes at full blast for the car to get even bearable (the old one would do it in around 10).
The other day I turn my car on put the ac to about 25% fan speed. It blew for 1 minute and completely stopped. No air would come out at any fan speed I put it on. I had to turn the car off and back on for it to start blowing again. It did it a few more times at different speeds so I took it back to the shop.
They said it needs a new compressor. My question is, based on the information, is there anything else that needs to be done? Is this just a case of a bad compressor or of a bigger problem?

The fan motor working has absolutely nothing to do with the A/C compressor when it comes to functionality. Your vents either blow air or they don't from the fan. The compressor doesn't blow any air into the cabin at all. Your post is vague and hard to follow just what in the world you actually are trying to say.
Every time you replace a compressor the expansion tube / orifice tube should be changed along with receiver / dryer. System should be flushed as well to remove any contamination from a failed compressor. Failure to do any one of these steps could result in premature failure of a compressor. There are other things to consider as well like proper oil and charge levels as well as clogged evaporators and poor flowing condensors... Many parts to an A/C system to make it function properly. Find a new shop.
