Icon3 96 EK hatch stolen in San Antonio, TX

Hey, just putting this out there for the possibility of some extra eyes. My 1996 EK Hatch was stolen last night at my apartment near the medical center in San Antonio, TX. I have liability insurance, so I'm pretty much SOL right now. I know this can happen anywhere, but I just moved to this town. What the hell? Anyways, thanks for looking.

RIP Hound.

Sorry that happened my brother, if i was in san antonio i would look, but im 1200 miles away. nevertheless....

clean honda. engine bay pics? we need to keep an eye out for parts he/she might sell. A lot of theives will sell off the wheels and aftermarket stuff for drugs and to make the car less obvious that it's yours.

First off, it's an EJ6, not an EK.

Second off, have you posted in the regional forums?

Third off, best of luck recovering it.

No engine bay pics. It was just a stock B16 with stock exhaust. The most obvious thing about the car was the headliner fabric (Houndstooth). You can kinda see it in the pic, but I'm sure if the thief wants to drive the car around, he'll take that down or cover it up ASAP. Or maybe not, who knows. The car doesn't really have anything of value on it either. The wheels I'm sure will be taken, but they're Rotas (lol). The interior was bone stock and I left nothing of value in there. Other than a relatively clean body and the coilover suspension, the car really has nothing of value on it. I don't get it.

Ahh, thanks for the clear up. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the specifics of the model. And no, I did not post this in the regional forum. The last post in there was half a year ago. I did however post on the ClubRSX and 8thCivic regional forums. Not much more activity in there either, but it was more than nothing.

Yes post this up in the regional section. That's a crappy feeling to walk out to find your car missing.

Word, I'll do that. And yea, it was. Never had it happen before and I hope it never happens again. I was walking around looking for it for a good while before accepting it was stolen.

No alarm? Yeah man moving to tx you gotta be prepared. It doesn't matter if you think you stay in a nice neighborhood, they follow you from a distance and make there move.

Did you have a quick release steering wheel? I'm going to invest in one in hopes this doesn't happen...

I'm sorry for your loss :'(

That's hilarious. A quick release is not even remotely a theft deterrent.

Unless the thieves come equipped with a steering wheel with the matching quick release, could you please explain how it's not? I'd really like to know

Because they can come back a 2nd time with a steering wheel.

Yes, heard it all. "If they want it they'll find a way"

I rather find ways to protect my property rather than sit back and not do anything.
