Icon2 How close is the 97 civic and crv?

I was in the middle of building my EKHB and ran into rust issues. so i've sourced out a new shell but it looks like i might have to wait until the spring for it. so i've been trying to figure out what other shells i can use.

i have the jdm type r 4 bolt conversion (front and rear), aftermarket rear lca's, front subframe and lca's and civic shocks. engine is an f22a1 from an accord (with trans) with ek h22 mounts. civic coupe cat back

so if i can find a manual crv, i was wondering if i can just rip out the drivetrain and just make it a fwd with the type-r suspension.

please no H2B comments, just want to know about this specific situation, thanks.

Default Re: How close is the 97 civic and crv?

ok, so i've been looking at honda parts diagrams and google searching for the past 4 hrs.

this is what i figured out:

engine mounts are the same as the civic so that ek h22 kit will work

front control arm set up is the same so i can use the jdm type setup and the rear trailing arms will work when the awd system is out.

also have to do a auto to manual swap cause the 97's only came in auto.

doesn't look like i can use the rear lca's but i can put them on my dd i guess, or sell em.
