Hey Honda tech folks.....I recently bought a 93 sedan for pretty cheap. It runs and drives great but it needs some front end work.....I replaced the hood yesterday and I can't get it to latch it seems like the striker on the hood hits in front of the latch on the radiator cradle.....what im wondering is there a difference in the 92-95 sedan hoods where the striker goes..the hood I pulled from the junkyard is from a sedan also

 

Have you tried adjusting the locking mechanism?

 

My Hatch has this same issue. It seems the hood, latch and probably radiator support was pushed back a touch in some previous "incident".

When I put a different hood on that was straight, the latch was missing the hole in the hood by about a quarter of an inch.

My short term solution once I realized what was happening was to pad the latch with washers when I bolted it back on. One of the bolts is a bit challenging to get to but with a handful of washers pushing the latch forward, it catches perfectly now with the non creased undamaged hoods (I've had two good ones on it since the adjustment).

When you go to close the hood, watch carefully where the latch is hitting on the striker bar and the hood itself. I'm willing to bet it's missing the slit type hole that the latch is supposed to go into for the striker to catch fully in the latch.

 

Yep, that's turns out to be the problem it will catch the part you release with your hand but it won't touch the part that connects to the cable im going to try the washer thing and see if I can fix it
