Up for sale is one of my first generation CRX Si's. This car is one of the original "pocket rockets" that began the import scene in the US. I am the 4th owner of the car having imported it from California about 3 years ago. The car does not have the original drive train and has certain performance/suspension modifications installed. The car has 500 miles on it since the restoration. Included in the sale will be all the parts I have gathered to complete the project, a 1986 factory service manual and a few OEM oil filters which are no longer being sold by Honda. Additional work is needed to complete this project as it is not turnkey.

Exterior Description:

I'd rate the exterior 8 out of 10. From my inspection the car has not been in an accident and still sports the original paint. The panels line up perfectly. The paint has been color sanded with 2000 grit, machine cut then polished/waxed. All of the moldings and trim are in excellent condition, some have been refinished. All emblems are present and present almost as new. Original engine bay paint has been polished and the lower half has been resprayed.

The bad
There are two or three minor rust spots near the sunroof and the sunroof needs replacing IMO. I have another sunroof in primer as well as an additional seal. The car has minor dings, scrapes and chips/scratches that one would expect on a 28 year old car. . One of the previous owners used touch up paint in certain areas including the drivers side door jamb. The drivers side door detent needs to be reconnected/repaired. The drivers side fender has a crack in the typical spot but its repairable or can be replaced with the aftermarket one. The header panel has cracks and is missing some paint but it is intact. One of the headlights has some small rust inside but I have a spare pair which are included. I have the front lip refinished but haven't installed it yet. Rear bumper has been sanded and is ready to have all the small nicks filled, primed then painted.

I have Greek white single stage paint, primer,reducer and perhaps evercoat filler sufficient to paint the sunroof and rear bumper which is included.

I have an aftermarket fender and another greek white header panel from a junkyard car which is included in the transaction.


Interior Description:

I'd rate the interior a 9 out of 10 for the age/mileage. I've had the driver's seat repaired and color matched as best as I could the vinyl sections that were torn. The headliner and door panels are in excellent condition. Honda replaced the seatbelts and receptors under warranty. No dealer installed a/c and the car has the radio delete. Driver's side carpet shows wear by the fuel release lever and typical wear by the pedals. I have original CRX floormats in black however the color does not match the carpeting very well.

Underside condition:
Outstanding. The whole under carriage has been rebuilt from front to back. I have some plastics that still need to be reinstalled.

Engine:
Block is rebuilt EW1 with Si pistons, rods and balanced crank. New bearings were blueprinted. ARP rod bolts.
Si head resurfaced and has port work for low-mid range power. Intake manifold port matched to head. Injectors cleaned and balanced. New valves and valve seals.
Felpro gaskets used throughout
DC Sports header port matched to exhaust port.
Dizzy rebuilt with new seal and smaller springs for better performance.
Custom 2.25" exhaust from header back, high flow cat, stainless steel muffler with a tig welded 3" tip.
New Denso starter, NGK plugs/wires, new radiator, hoses, fuel filter and new coolant temp switch.
Valve cover painted wrinkle red.
Odyssey PC-680 sealed battery on custom bracket. Still have the original battery tray which is included in sale.
KNW air filter

Transmission/Etc:

30k JDM unit with 13# lightened flywheel.
New Exeddy clutch.
New (not rebuilt) Empei axles

Suspension/handling:
New Tokico HP Blues front and rear.
Ground Control coilovers with 250# springs.
HF rear axle with aftermarket sway bar
HF steering rack
Bump steer kit
New Integra radius arms, Delrin and Energy Suspension bushings
19mm Integra front sway bar with new Energy Suspension bushings
E-Centric cross drilled front rotors, rebuilt calipers, Hawk HP pads
Rear brakes still original with drums turned, new shoes and cylinders

Wheels/Tires:

Konig rated R 14"x6" rims with 500 mile Falken RT 615's in size 195/60/14.

Other:
DC Sports short throw shifter
Momo leather shift ****


Also available for $600:
Mugen CF-48 13"x5.5" rims with old Toyo RA1's race rubber. I have four center caps for the rims (I think 3 are original and one reproduction), reproduction plastic aero disks that need to be refinished/paint matched and reproduction mugen stickers. I may even have aftermarket hardware to install the aero disks. Mugen rims have an earlier repaint but still look very good and have all the kanji badges. Some chips/scratches but no curbing.
