Default Need some help here.

I will be running 220+whp next summer and I am looking into the tranny **** now.I have a gsr without a LSD, will a Type R trannt fit my car, and will the more favourable gear ratios, and LSD be worth it.
Option #1 Type R tranny with ACT clutch+ flywheel
Option #2 Stock tranny with ACT clutch + flywheel no LSD

Which would be cheaper, reliable and perform better, which should I go with?

from those choices, I would chose the type r tranny with the act clutch, but I would rather chose the gsr tranny with an lsd, just because it has longer gearing. HTH

cuz some of us would rather not be crusing in vtec at regular highway speeds on the freeway...

with my trannie, I'm at 3300 to 4000rpm's when i'm at 65 to 80 mph. already! when going 80 on the freeway, that's almost vtec for me... but it does sound sweet when it engages...hehehe

Most people w/ 220 whp would sacrifice high rpms in 5th for the better performance that comes with shorter gearing . and with a GSR 5th dropped in it would not be so bad.

by saying your going to be making 220+ im guessin your going Turbo or FI... if your going that way.. go with your stock tranny... much better.. my friend with a GSR has turbo.. he had a type r tranny.. hated it... went back to stock and sold his type r tranny... he ran a quicker time in the quarter with his stock than with the type r tranny.. but if your going NA by all means get a type r tranny... JDM one if you can
