Icon2 air condioner - syrofoam???

My air conditioner blew some styrofoam out through the vents... since then, if car is in sun, the air blows HOT.
So, I'm wondering how would I get to the area where the styrofoam was to replace it???? Or, what that area would be called? Or, any info???? I haven't found anything.
thx.
I have a 95 Honda Civic.

I'm guessing the evaporator blew a hole in it or perhaps the expansion valve busted. I'm just guessing without seeing. The styrofoam surrounds the evporator core. You need to have the system evacuated. Then you need a set of flare wrenches. Disconnect the two lines on the passenger side of the engine bay leading into the cabin. Then remove the glove box. Then remove the evaporator core behind it. The styrofoam should be parts 7 and 8 in this illustration.

It's likely you will need an evaporator core and you will need to replace the expansion valve as well. Get a ac oring seal kit as well for about $15 bucks and replace all orings. Put it all back together and have it recharged.

Now looking at this diagram it looks like you won't need flare wrenches to disconnect the pipes going to the evaporator. It looks like it just has a flange there.

Thank you soooo much! That diagram is great! It was making me crazy not being able to find anything.

ok, so I finally got around to tearing things apart... took the battery out to get to the lines... broke the bolt that goes into the evaporator core (or where ever it goes)... took off glove box & support, trying to take out the evaporator box, took out all the bolts I could find, & unhooked a couple wires... box moves slightly, but will not come out. it seems like it's stuck somewhere on the top left side.
grrrrrr.
any ideas???
the evaporator sub assembly is completely inside the car, so it's not catching on that.

Sometimes you gotta loosen the heater core assembly next to it

this was the culprit. It took a #10 socket with two extensions. the bolt was way in there on the top of evaporator...

Meanwhile, I took out the blower, to see if that would help. It didn't, but the blower needed cleaning anyways...

Here's the evaporator out, showing the messed up styrofoam that many people have told me wasn't even in there (I knew it had been in there as it flew out at me! )

Manny, you were right! WooHoo!!!!!!!!
