Anyone have a basic bullet list of what is required for swaps into a F22b2 Accord? (1997 Accord LX sedan nonvtec and Manual)

I am still trying to wrap my head around what the best deal will be and how to do it. I am thinking F23A or an F22B JDM engine.. I'd like to go with whatever will cost the least in the long run (which seems like F23).

I can't manage to calculate the cost for the swaps as I don't know every little thing that I'll need yet. Can someone link me or just puke it into a post? I have searched but nothing all too specific to this application.

What exactly are you attempting to gain by swapping a F23A into your Accord? The motors are nearly identical as are the power output. The F22B isn't exactly gaining you much either.

There are a metric **** ton of swap threads that list every part you need which you can then easily calculate the cost. From using the other sites in the Accord FAQ, like Majestic Honda and TAS Auto.

I'll throw you a bone and let you know I spent ~$4k or so on my H22A swapped '96 Accord after it was all said and done. That included doing fluids and all the maintenance items that should be done (timing belt, water pump, injectors, spark plugs, belts, etc) in addition to the required bits (ECU, header, mounts, conversion harness, etc).

The cost is going to vary greatly because you may be doing all the work yourself, maybe you have a local junkyard with an H22 laying around from a Prelude, who knows.

 

The wiring in the car is jacked up thanks to previous owners. I'd like a lower mileage engine. So rather than grabbing another beat up F22B2 from the junk yard or online (which are way more expensive than an F23), i'd like to get a JDM F23 since it's got about 1/3rd the mileage. The power gain is just a bonus. I want the car to last.

 

Then again, the F23 into a 5th gen has been covered.

Note the F23 are all vtec (pretty sure and too tired to look), so for your LX you will need a new PCM and that.
