Default HELP!!! 97 Honda Accord F22B2

Ok so if you didn't see my original post I'll fill you in... Car was running hot and idling high at time and low at times to the point that it would cut off... I replaced TPS and the fan on right side of car and coolant temp sensor.... Still had same problems... So I strait wired fans to a toggle switch so they run now. Removed thermostat and physically saw coolant running in radiator to ensure there was no blockage and water pump was working properly... After all of this my car still overheats and idles low at times although not as much sense I replaced TPS... Any ideas on why? Need help desperately.

Ok so...did you properly calibrate the TPS? Did you bleed the cooling system properly? Has the IACV been cleaned or replaced? Before you started replacing things did you check all the fuses and wiring for the cooling fans?

Yes to the calibration! Yes to the bleeding and yes to checking the fuses and relays... As to the IACV I have not Thanks for that. That will be my next task... But will that cause the car to run hot as well?

I don't believe so, that's why I asked if the fuses/relays were checked, and also air in the cooling system can cause a surging idle and can also effect ect reading. Out of curiosity have you checked the spark plugs? (for proper gap, or damage, or most importantly contamination) also I know you've been dealing with the cooling system but prior to that did you notice any coolant disappearing? I would recommend a compression test to help rule out a head gasket issue, just make sure it's performed with the engine warmed up, all plugs out and throttle plate open.

I did change the plugs and no to the disappearing coolant... But I'm going to bleed the system again just to be sure there are no air pockets and do a compression test to see where that gets me...thanks for the info
