Remove facing from driver side vent
I have a CF driver side vent that won't function because the apparatus that moves the blades inside the vent is loose and has detached.
I want to remove the CF facing so I can access the blade on the inside and reattch the loose piece.
How do I go about removing the facing without completely destroyed the plastic? Is this even doable?
Thank you!

I am in the same situation. Mine is loose except for that top clip that you show. Seems to be epoxied on or something. But should be easy as long as you can glue it back
I figured I have to loosen up that gray clip but I'm afraid to put too much force on that the entire facing cracks. I already loosened up the bottom part.
Since I have another Itr vent and I didn't get one hit on it in classifieds. I decided to give it a go, its been broke for years..I got it loosened in the bottom like you said then wedged a razor blade between the top cent tab. I heated the entire upper area with a gun on low and gently pulled it apart. There's two tabs at the top that slide in and they aren't damaged. I'll need to glue it back together.

I did this precise thing a year ago.
For the drivers side vent, the trim for the gage board get together is holding the vent set up. You can expel this trim board get together precisely with a wedge to discharge the gets. Begin at the top and work your way to the base and the gets ought to discharge. Be cautious at the highest point of this trim so you don't break the gets.
Once evacuated, the vent can turn out. Repairing the tab that controls the vanes is precarious and requires a relentless hand and some tolerance, yet it should be possible.
My inside vents broke too and I had the merchant supplant the entire gathering. The expense of that is the thing that made me endeavor the DIY on the drivers side vent.
