So my car just got a engine with about 98k in it. before when it had the other engine i use to step all the way down on the accelerator and it would make the tires chirp a little and then accelerate fast. now it doesn't do that. When i press my foot all the way down the engine sounds as if im in a gear to high for the speed i am going at. it does this for a couple seconds and then it accelerates. what could this be?

Maybe your car had a B18C5 in it before and now it has a D15B7. Could that be it?

if it's an auto it's just out of adjustment

 

TV cable is out of adjustment sorry

 

Or linear solenoid

 

wasnt sure what year, since the engine was pulled and a lot of stuff disturbed, it's probably a matter of getting everything adjusted again is all

My car idles fine though. And it turns on right after the engine turns over twice just like every other civic out there. Should I still try this?

 

My car had the same symptoms as yours a few years ago. The timing was off and it was fine after I adjusted it.
